About Me

Hi, I'm Rong Yuthean, a Software Engineer. I started my career in 2020 at E-Power CCL Co., Ltd, where I spent four years as a software engineer, and since 2024 I've been working as a freelancer, partnering with startups and local businesses. Over these six years, I've been building software end to end, from database schemas and backend services to APIs and the interfaces people use every day. My focus is on systems that are not just functional, but reliable, performant, and easy to maintain. My path started with a degree in Computer Science, where I fell in love with algorithms, systems design, and the satisfaction of turning an idea into working code. Since then, I've worked across the full stack, believing the best products come from engineers who understand how every layer fits together.

My Engineering Philosophy

My approach is rooted in simplicity and ownership. I believe great software starts with understanding the problem deeply before writing a line of code. I favor clear designs, small and well-tested changes, thorough code reviews, and strong observability, so issues are caught early and fixed fast.I strive to write code that the next engineer will thank me for. Whether I'm designing a distributed service in Go, building a Nuxt/Vue front-end, or automating infrastructure with Terraform, I always keep performance, security, and maintainability in mind.

What Drives Me

What keeps me excited about this work is the constant learning and the challenge of making complex systems feel simple. There's nothing more rewarding than shipping something that holds up under real-world load and makes users' and teammates' lives easier.

Beyond the Code

When I'm not at my keyboard for work, you'll probably find me contributing to open-source projects, experimenting with new languages and tools, or getting outdoors to recharge. Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to browse my projects or get in touch if you'd like to build something together!
